Cooking Out


One of my favorite things to do is to make pulled pork. Tomorrow, we will be going to my sister-in-law’s house to do the cooking. Tonight, however, we will be preparing the meat and smoker for yet another stab at the perfect pulled pork. Below is the recipe:

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

    * 4 teaspoons paprika

    * 2 teaspoons salt

    * 2 teaspoons onion powder

    * 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper

    * 1 teaspoons cayenne

Preparation: Mix ingredients together. Spread evenly on prepared meat that has been patted dry. Wrap the meat in foil, refrigerate and allow to sit overnight. Set out 1 hour before cooking.

Optional: After patting the meat dry and before applying the rub, cover the meat with yellow mustard. Also optional, inject meat with apple cider vinegar.

Cook: Cook the meat between 180-225 degrees one and a half hours per pound of meat.
